Clean Energy Fuels, an energy company focused on decarbonizing transportation, needed a centralized data foundation to automate critical operational workflows as well as improve enterprise-wide reporting. Manual processes for invoice handling and fragmented supply-and-demand data created inefficiencies, limited scalability, and increased errors in reporting.
We designed and implemented a scalable data platform built on Azure Databricks lakehouse architecture to centralize and manage operational and financial data across the enterprise.
Using Unity Catalog, we centralized governance, secured access controls, and established data management policies to ensure compliance.
The initial deployment focused on automating the ingestion and processing of invoice and supply-and-demand data, replacing disconnected manual workflows with reusable, automated pipelines. By applying standardized transformation rules, analytics-ready datasets were created and a governed lakehouse framework was built. All with curated data layers that provided a strong foundation for future enhancements in data quality, enterprise reporting, and advanced analytics.
By modernizing its data foundation, Clean Energy Fuels has transformed fragmented, manual workflows into a centralized and scalable enterprise data environment.
